Our Mission

At Helping Young Brothers our mission is to provide education and opportunity to both the incarcerated population and the communities to which they return, empowering individuals and strengthening communities to stop the cycle of violence.

Our Purpose

We at Helping Young Brothers exist to reduce violence and recidivism by addressing the root cause of crime through education, mentorship,  and community based support. By supporting individuals before, during, and after incarceration. Our team works together to strengthen neighborhoods and promote long-term safety and unity. 

Our Organizational Plan

Helping Young Brothers is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving communities most impacted by crime by providing education, opportunity, and support to incarcerated persons and the communities to which they return.

Our Vision

Our team believes a unified community is where differences are bridged, recidivism is reduced, and violence is no longer the norm. 

Our Core Belief:

Our team believes that when communities come together as one supporting rehabilitation, accountability, and opportunity we reclaim our street and create ever-lasting change.

OUR PROGRAMS & gOals: 4 key areas of focus

1. Incarceration Based Education:

Life skills, conflict resolution, and personal development for incarcerated persons


2. Re-entry & Transition Support:

Preparation for releasse, mentorship, access to employment and community resources

3. Community Violence Prevention:

Youth mentorship, community dialogue, and violence interruption initiatives

4. Community Empowerment:

Leadership development and peer mentorship to build positive role models within affected communities

Population Served:

  • Incarcerated and formerly incarcerated persons
  • Youth and young adults at risk of incarceration
  • Communities disproportionately affected by crimes and violence

Impact Goals:

  1. Reduce recidivism among program participants
  2. Increase education and employment outcomes post-release
  3. Strengthen community reltionshoips and trust
  4. Decrease community violence 

Long Term Goal:

To help communities take back their streets by uniting individuals, families, and neighborhoods in a shared effort to end violence, restore dignity, and create opportunity for all. Helping Young Brothers is committed to building safer communities through unity, education, and opportunity. Becoming leaders who inspire leaders to be great.

ABOUT THE CEO & FOUNDER

Justin Allen is an author, mentor, and faith-driven leader whose life reflects God’s power of redemption. After facing adversity and incarceration at a young age, he turned to faith and recovery. Today, he serves others by sharing hope, giving back, and inspiring transformation through purpose and grace.
